Centro Atlético Mario Recordón
Located in the Parque Estadio Nacional in Ñuñoa, the Centro Atlético Mario Recordón is one of Santiago’s premier sports venues. It was renovated for the 2023 Pan American and Parapan American Games in Santiago and the 2025 Parapan American Youth Games in Santiago. The building features modern infrastructure designed for track and field training and competition, cementing its place as part of the sporting legacy left by the event for Chile.
The facility features a 400-meter track and eight running lanes, certified to World Athletics’ A1 standard. Its facilities support a variety of disciplines, including sprinting, long-distance running, jumping, and throwing events, as well as indoor training spaces and areas dedicated to athletes’ physical conditioning.
As part of the Parque Estadio Nacional infrastructure, the Centro Atlético Mario Recordón serves as a space for the development of sports and inclusion. Its facilities will host Special Olympics athletes during the Special Olympics Invitational Games—Road to Santiago 2027, where the athletes’ talent, effort, and skills will take center stage in a celebration aimed at fostering a more inclusive society.
