Special Olympics Chile athletes led the unified creation process, reflecting a World Games built on a foundation of inclusion.
This morning, the group of experts charged with organizing the world’s most inclusive sporting event for athletes with intellectual disabilities, to be held in Chile, was announced.
Local Programs will be the official mechanism for athletes to train and compete, with the goal of representing their country in this major sporting event.
The event was organized by the Ministry of Sports and included the participation of the Olympic and Paralympic Committees and the National Sports Institute.
A new international multi-sport event will be held in our country. Santiago was chosen as the host city for the 2027 Special Olympics World Games, which will be held in the Southern Hemisphere for the first time.
